Laila El-Haddad, author and journalist.
Laila is the author of Gaza Mom: Palestine, Politics, Parenting, and Everything In Between and co-author of The Gaza Kitchen: A Palestinian Culinary Journey, is a talented blogger, political analyst, social activist, and parent-of-three from Gaza City. She is also a contributing author toThe Goldstone Report: The Legacy of the Landmark Investigation of the Gaza Conflict, and a policy advisor with al-Shabaka, the Palestinian Policy Network. Ilise Cohen Ph.D., Chair of the Atlanta chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace and Interfaith Peace Builders.
Jewish Voice for Peace: Liberation and Justice. Ilise is a long time scholar-activist on the Middle East, particularly on Israel/Palestine and has her Ph.D. in Social and Cultural Anthropology focused on an ethnography of Mizrahi Jews and their experiences of war and eviction in Israel in 2006/2007. Ilise teaches undergraduate level courses in Jewish issues, Judaism and Hebrew and post-graduate courses on international social policies, identity and diversity at Smith College-School for Social Work, Agnes Scott College, Georgia State University and formerly at Emory University.
Rania Khalek, Journalist with the Electronic Intifada.
The ways in which Israel’s methods and weapons of domination and control over Palestinians are exported to other countries as a part of Israel’s booming homeland security industry. Rania is an independent journalist reporting on the underclass and marginalized. She is a regular contributor to The Electronic Intifada, Truthout and FAIR. Ramah Kudaimi, U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation.
The global BDS movement for Palestinian Rights: What is the current state of affairs and what can you do to take part. Ramah has worked at several grassroots activist organizations including CODEPINK, the Washington Peace Center, and the Arab American Action Network. She has a Master of Arts degree in Conflict Resolution from Georgetown University and a B.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University. Azadeh Shahshahani is a human rights attorney based in Atlanta and President of the National Lawyers Guild. In May 2014, Shahshahani joined an NLG delegation to the West Bank on the situation of Palestinian political prisoners. Shahshahani has also been on other delegations to the Middle East, including to post-revolutionary Egypt and Tunisia. Shahshahani writes frequently on US foreign policy and domestic civil liberties issues for publications such as the Huffington Post, Aljazeera America, and the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
